- ✓Written scopes naming the plaster system, tile, coping stone and mortar bed.
- ✓Architectural review packets prepared for gated-community submittals.
- ✓Renovation scheduled May to October, while the house is empty.
- ✓Photo reports after every service visit for owners who live elsewhere.
- ✓We will tell you which upgrades on your quote are not worth the money.
How It Works
1. Site visit and the finish-level conversation
We sound the shell, check the coping joint, read the pad and measure the deck. Then we talk about how many months a year you are here and how long you plan to keep the house, because those two answers decide which interior finish and which equipment actually make sense for you.
2. Written scope and firm quote
Every quote names the plaster system, the tile, the coping stone, the mortar bed and the equipment models, with line items separated so you can take some and leave others. Where we think a line is not worth the money on your pool, we mark it and explain why rather than quietly including it.
3. Permits and community approval
We handle submittals to Collier County or the City of Naples and prepare the architectural review packet most gated communities require, with elevations and physical material samples. Approval timelines vary by community, so we build the calendar around them instead of promising a start date we cannot control.
4. Build, startup and handover
Chip-out, tile, coping and finish run in one mobilization. New plaster gets a bicarbonate startup and daily brushing through the first weeks, and salt systems stay off for a month. At handover you get the equipment settings written down, and photographs of everything that ended up buried under deck.
Our Pool Services in Naples, FL

New Pool Construction
Most new pools here go into built-out lots where access is harder than excavation. Old Naples side yards run ten feet wide, and the shotcrete hose often crosses a driveway, a protected oak and a neighbor's irrigation before it reaches the hole.

Fiberglass Pools
Fiberglass is a real option in Collier County, and the question that settles it is usually access. The shell arrives on a truck as one large piece, and it has to reach the backyard past gate posts, street turns, a tile roof and mature landscaping that nobody wants trimmed.

Vinyl Liner Pools
We install and replace vinyl liners, and in most of Collier County we will tell you not to build a new vinyl pool. That is an unusual thing for a builder to say, so here is the reasoning rather than the slogan.

Pool Remodeling
The remodel conversation here is rarely about what is possible. Almost every pool in Naples can be made to look new.

Pool Resurfacing
Interior finish is the one remodel line item where paying more genuinely buys years. Most of a quote is taste or convenience.

Pool Tile & Coping
Tile and coping are the two surfaces people touch and photograph, and they are where hard water shows up first. A scale line across the waterline tile is the most common complaint we hear about a pool that is otherwise in good condition.

Pool Decks
Deck temperature is the thing owners notice in April and forget in January. In direct sun the difference between light shell stone and a dark charcoal paver is the difference between walking barefoot and hopping to the water.

Spas & Hot Tubs
In a market where many houses are occupied from November through April, the spa gets used more than the pool. Pool water is pleasant on its own for most of that stretch.

Water Features
Most of the water features we are asked to quote, we end up quoting smaller. Not because they are badly built, but because a feature running on its own pump and evaporating water all afternoon is a running cost that follows you for the life of the pool.

Pool Lighting
Pool lighting is judged at night from a chair on the lanai, which is not how it usually gets specified. Most of the underlit and overlit pools we are asked to fix have roughly the right number of fixtures pointed the wrong way.

Pool Automation
The first question we ask before quoting automation is how many months a year the house sits empty. That single answer decides whether a controller is a genuine tool or an expensive way to switch on a light you could reach with your hand.

Pool Heaters
Heating a pool here is an economics question rather than a comfort one. The water is swimmable on its own for much of the year.

Pool Pumps & Filters
The equipment pad is where a pool quietly spends money. Nothing about it is visible, nobody photographs it, and it accounts for most of what the pool costs you between remodels.

Saltwater Systems
A salt system is a way of making chlorine on site, not a way of avoiding chlorine. Owners who understand that stay happy with them for years.

Leak Detection
An automatic fill line is why most leaks in this market get found in October rather than April. The pool never drops, the level always looks right, and the only evidence is a water bill nobody is reading while the house is empty.

Pool Equipment Repair
Most equipment calls come down to a single decision: repair the machine or replace it. We would rather have that conversation with numbers than sell a new pad because it is easier to quote.

Pool Cleaning
The season you are not here is the one that decides what the pool looks like when you are. Almost every green pool we get called to in October was a pool moved to every-other-week service in June to save money while the house was empty.

Commercial Pools
Condominium associations, clubs and hotels along this coast run pools under different rules than a backyard. Florida health department requirements for public pools govern turnover rate, flow measurement, drain covers, depth markings and signage, and an inspector decides whether the pool opens.

Pool Safety
Florida's residential pool safety law sets out a short list of ways a pool can be brought into compliance, and a new pool has to meet one of them. Which one you choose should depend on who is actually in the house, not on which is cheapest to install.

Pool Removal
Pool removal is rare in this county and we usually try to talk owners out of it. In a market where nearly every house has a pool and buyers expect one, filling in the water is a decision that follows the property through every future sale.
What Naples Customers Say
They talked us out of half the upgrades on our own wish list and put the money into coping and tile instead. The pool looks better than the version we had priced.
Resurfaced in pebble while we were in Michigan. Weekly photos of the work, and the water was balanced and clear the day we landed in November.
They handled the architectural review packet, which nobody else offered to do, and the coping and deck were approved first time with no changes.
Quoted a new heat pump and then told us a contactor and a cover would do it for now. Fixed it in one visit and saved us a great deal of money.
Naples Pool Builders is a licensed pool contractor working across Naples and Collier County on remodeling, resurfacing, new construction and equipment service. Most of what we do is renovation: quartz-aggregate and polished pebble interiors, glass and porcelain waterline tile, shell stone and travertine coping, variable-speed pumps, heat-pump heaters, salt systems and automation an owner can reach from another state.
Naples is a remodel market more than a new-build one, and the recurring question is which upgrades change the pool and which only change the invoice. Interior finish grade, coping profile, deck material and the hydraulics at the equipment pad change how a pool looks and how long it lasts. Mosaic on the steps and a fourth lighting scene mostly do not, and we will say so.
We also carry pools whose owners are here for part of the year. That means weekly service that does not thin out in July, photo reports after every visit, heater and salt cell checks before you land, and renovation scheduled for the months the house is empty. Residential pools, condominium and club pools, licensed and insured, with a written scope on every quote.
About Naples Pool Builders in Naples, FL
Naples Pool Builders is a licensed and insured pool contractor serving Naples, Marco Island and the communities across Collier and south Lee counties. We build new pools, but the larger part of our work is renovation: interior finishes, tile and coping, decks, equipment pads and the ongoing service that keeps all of it working.
The way we quote comes from the market we work in. Owners here are usually deciding between finish levels rather than deciding whether to have a pool, and a lot of that money can be spent well or spent decoratively. So our quotes name the material, the system and the expected service life, and they say which lines we would drop on our own house.
There are jobs we turn down. If your plaster is five years old and simply needs a good cleaning and better chemistry, we are not the right call for a remodel and we will tell you that on the site visit. We are also the wrong contractor if you want the cheapest resurface available, because we do not skip the chip-out and the bond coat to reach a number.

Commercial Pool Renovation & Service in Collier County
We work with condominium associations, clubs, hotels and property managers on amenity pools that have to satisfy an inspector as well as a board. That means pump rooms sized to the required turnover, compliant drain covers, working flow meters, controllers that log rather than dose, and interior finishes chosen for constant bather load. Because occupancy here is seasonal, we plan resurfacing and deck work for the summer and write scopes a board can vote on line by line.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a pool remodel cost in Naples?
It depends almost entirely on how much of the pool you touch. A resurface alone is the smallest job. Adding waterline tile and coping roughly triples the scope, because chip-out damages coping anyway. Deck replacement and an equipment pad rebuild are separate again. We quote each as its own line so you can stage the work across two seasons if that suits the budget better.
Which interior finish lasts longest in Collier County water?
Polished pebble, by a wide margin, followed by quartz-aggregate and then plain white plaster. Fill water here is hard, so a finish that tolerates calcium and imperfect chemistry is worth the premium if you are keeping the house. If you are selling within about two years, quartz plus good coping and tile is the better use of the same money.
Do I need architectural review approval before remodeling?
In most gated communities in Naples, yes, and it usually covers anything visible: coping stone, deck color, tile, raised walls and sometimes equipment screening. We prepare the packet with elevations and samples and submit it alongside the county or city permit. Rules differ community to community, so we confirm yours before ordering material.
Heat pump or gas heater for a pool used in winter?
If you are here through the season and want the pool at a steady temperature, a heat pump costs far less to run and is the right machine, accepting slower recovery on cold January nights. If you fly in for a week at a time and want the water warm by Saturday, gas or propane earns its running cost. A cover helps either one more than a size upgrade does.
Can you service the pool while we are up north for the summer?
Yes, and that is a large part of what we do. Weekly service continues at full scope through the summer, because that is the hardest part of the year for water here. You get photographs of the pool and the equipment pad after every visit, a report if anything changes, and the water balanced and the heater checked before you arrive.
How long is the pool out of use during a renovation?
A resurface with tile and coping typically keeps the pool empty for a couple of weeks, plus the startup period afterward when we brush daily and hold the salt system off. Deck work and pad rebuilds add time. Most owners here schedule the whole thing between May and October so the pool is ready for the season.
